Static InterceptÒ was developed by Lucent Technologies Bell Labs to provide permanent, humidity independent ESD protection coupled with the state of the art in Corrosion protection. This dual functionality of the Intercept material is one of its revolutionary aspects.
This material protects against Non-Ferrous, Ferrous and Galvanic corrosion. Corrosion protection provided for 30 years - perfect for part storage or shipment of parts across oceans or in places with high levels of corrosive gases. Corrosive gases can easily migrate through traditional Dry Pack Bags -- only Intercept prevents these corrosive gases from migrating through and corrosion that Bell Labs found caused most latent defects.
SIF - Static Intercept Bags are humidity independent – most all other Dry Pack Bags use volatile anti-stats as their inner layer. These anti-static materials depend on moisture to work. Only Intercept will provide ESD protection at humidities less than 10% (<5% RH is normal for bags with desiccants). When the inside of normal Dry Packaging Bags dry out they stop working. |
