CASE STUDY: Machined Castings Produced & Packaged in China

Old Procedure: Dip each part in oil before packing them between VCI paper and then inside a VCI bag.  Upon unpacking parts, steam clean, dry, and then inspect, repack and ship to the onshore customer.

 

New Procedure: Dry and clean parts and place freshly cast and machined castings in the 4-mil intercept bag.  No oil or VCIs.  Then seal the bag with clear tape. 

The customer was amazed to see the results.  We were not.
